“The Lack of Consent” is a composite re-translation of various artworks, which originally belonged to a collection of contemporary art from Japanese artists.
By carefully analyzing how the consequences of these structures manifest across media imagery, interpersonal relationships, including stalking & domestic abuse, this project aim to situate these issues not just as isolated incidents, but as intertwined issues of a larger cultural logic that harms women through norms which prioritizes control, homogeneity, and conformity over autonomy.
